Caring for the Whole Person

The long awaited and eagerly anticipated Final Report from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety will be released on February 26. There has been two years of enquiry into the state of Australia’s aged care sector. I think many parts of the world are likely to share similar issues.

Recommendations for wide reaching reform for Australia’s aged-care sector will be the outcome. We look forward to having upgraded foundations for an aged-care system that can better support older Australians in the following many years.

Part of that is a need for holistic, person-centred care in the aged care sector. We all want a system that helps all senior Australians thrive, both physically and mentally, in environments that meet all of their needs including those of safely managing every day to day activity; eating and drinking being no exception.
