With Dementia month just concluding and recently highlighted in the media, it’s timely to have a bit of an update about it from a speech pathologist’s viewpoint.

According to World Health Organization, an estimated 47,000,000 people worldwide are living with Dementia and 7 million cases are diagnosed each year. They’re huge numbers that not only impact the person living with Dementia themselves, but their caregivers as well.

This short video discusses the 5 main types of Dementia and their symptoms. The video is specifically designed for caregivers. I hope you find it useful.

Thank you for the job you do in caring for those living with Dementia. If your loved one has a difficulty with swallowing, find out more here.
